Rasam, a South Indian classic, is a staple in most households. But you can never know the quality of ingredients and the preservatives in a packed rasam masala. Here’s how you can make it at home.
1 cup coriander seeds 2 tablespoons cumin seeds 1/4 cup black peppercorns 15 dry red chillies 1/3 cup toor dal 2 tablespoons chana dal 1 turmeric stick 2 sprigs curry leaves
Mix all the ingredients. Heat a pan and dry roast the mixture till fragrant.
Let the roasted mixture cool down. Grind to make a smooth powder.
Store in an air-tight container till the next time you want to make Rasam.
