During the holy month of Ramadan, samosas hold a special place on Iftar tables, serving taste buds with their crispiness. Here's a simple yet delicious recipe to make Ramadan-special samosas at home:
2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons ghee or butter ½ teaspoon salt Water, as needed 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed 1 cup peas, boiled 1 onion, finely chopped 2 green chilies, finely chopped 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon coriander powder ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ½ teaspoon garam masala Salt, to taste Oil, for frying
Prepare the dough by mixing flour, ghee, salt, and water. Knead into a smooth dough and let it rest. In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Then, sauté onions and green chilies.
Add mashed potatoes, boiled peas, and spices. Mix well. Roll out the dough, cut into circles, and fill each circle with the potato mixture.
Fold the circles into triangles, seal the edges, and deep fry until golden brown. Serve hot with chutney or sauce. Enjoy your homemade Ramadan-special samosas!
