The recipe of this unusual sandwich has been taking the internet by storm recently, making it the perfect snack to enjoy while breaking your fast. Loaded with protein and good fats, make this recipe your own by switching up ingredients and replacing them with any you might prefer.
2 pieces pita/poee bread 1 chicken breast 1 teaspoon paprika powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon cumin powder Juice of ½ lemon Salt and pepper, to taste 1 tablespoon olive oil
¼ cup shredded lettuce ¼ cup feta cheese ½ tomato, sliced ¼ onion, chopped 2 tablespoons chopped coriander 1 tablespoon sour cream
Combine the spices, lemon juice and seasoning for the chicken and sprinkle generously on both sides of the chicken breast.
Allow it to marinate for an hour before grilling on a pan until cooked on both sides.
Cool slightly before dicing or shredding it as per preference and add the sour cream to the chicken to mix well.
Toast your bread of choice lightly before using a knife to make an incision and opening up the pita/poee bread.
Fill up the hollow centre with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, onion and the chicken.
Sprinkle feta cheese and coriander on top and serve when still warm.
