Ramadan feasts are incomplete without one of its most traditional and loved desserts. Sheer khurma is often synonymous with Ramadan due to its widespread popularity and charm. It is a creamy dessert that represents luxury and decadence. So, make your Iftar even more special by making an incredible sheer khurma using this recipe.
1/2 cup vermicelli 1 litre of full-fat milk 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup ghee 10–12 chopped cashews, almonds, and pistachios 1/4 cup raisins 4-5 crushed cardamom pods A pinch of saffron (optional) 1 tablespoon of rose water Chopped dates
Roast vermicelli in ghee until golden brown, then set aside.
Sauté nuts and raisins in the same pan until golden, then set aside.
Simmer milk with vermicelli until creamy.
Add sugar, cardamom, saffron, and dates, and simmer until the dates are soft.
Stir in nuts, raisins, and rose water.
Serve warm or chilled, garnished with more nuts and saffron strands.
