Handmade gifts are the best ways to show love. Baking a chocolate cake for your sibling on Rakhi is a sweet way to celebrate the bond you share. You can customise the cakes as per your siblings preferences and the act of baking adds a personal touch, making the festival even more special and memorable.

Ingredients

1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt

Ingredients

2 large eggs 1 cup whole milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup boiling water

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease with oil and add flour to two round cake tins. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 2

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla extract.

Step 3

Mix both sets of ingredients with a spatula.

Step 4

Stir in boiling water to the batter. The batter will be thin, but this ensures a moist cake. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake tins.

Step 5

Bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes. The cake can be frosted using icing or simply dusted with powdered sugar.
