A homemade cucumber sandwich offers a delightful blend of creamy, crunchy textures. The cream cheese yoghurt spread pairs beautifully with crisp cucumber slices, all held together by hearty whole-wheat bread.
1 cucumber 12-14 slices whole wheat, brown, or white bread ½-1 tsp crushed black pepper Salted, softened butter (or unsalted, as needed) Salt, as required (optional)
Rinse and peel the cucumber, then slice it thinly and set aside. Remove the crusts from the bread slices, or leave them on if preferred.
Generously spread salted butter on each slice of bread to prevent sogginess. Arrange 6 to 8 cucumber slices on one buttered slice of each bread pair.
Sprinkle crushed black pepper and a pinch of salt over the cucumber slices. Place another buttered slice on top and cut the sandwich into rectangles or triangles.
Serve the cucumber sandwiches immediately with your favourite chutney or dip. Enjoy fresh and delicious sandwiches!
