1 cup all-purpose flour (maida) 1/4 cup semolina (sooji) 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup yogurt 1/4 tsp cardamom powder 1/4 tsp fennel seeds (optional) A pinch of saffron strands (optional) Ghee for frying 1 cup sugar 1 cup water Chopped nuts for garnish
In a bowl combine the all-purpose flour, semolina, milk, yogurt, cardamom powder, fennel seeds, and saffron strands.
Mix well. Let the batter rest for about 30 minutes. Now heat the sugar and water to make syrup.
Now Heat ghee in a pan,take a ladleful of the batter and pour it spreading it in a circular motion.
Fry until the edges turn golden brown, then flip it over and cook until golden brown.
Now Once fried, immediately transfer the Malpua into the warm sugar syrup. Let it soak for a few minutes.
Garnish with chopped nuts like almonds or pistachios. Serve warm and enjoy!
