Ajwain paratha is a flavourful breakfast delight, combining the earthy aroma of carom seeds with soft, golden layers of whole wheat. Lightly spiced and crisp, it offers a wholesome and comforting start to your day.
2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds) 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbsp oil or ghee Water Ghee or oil
In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour, ajwain, and salt. Add 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee and mix well.
Gradually add water to knead into a soft, pliable dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a ball. Dust with flour and roll into a small circle.
Brush lightly with ghee and fold into a semi-circle, then fold again to form a triangle. Roll this triangle into a slightly thick paratha.
Heat a tawa on medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on it and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form. Flip and apply ghee or oil on the cooked side.
Flip again, applying ghee on the other side, and cook until golden brown and crisp. Serve hot with yoghurt, pickle, or a side of curry.
