Punjabi-Style Spicy Chole Tikki For Monsoon Snacking

Chole Tikki are savory patties made from mashed potatoes and spiced chickpeas, commonly enjoyed as a street food snack in North India.

Ingredients

2 cups boiled chickpeas (chole) 2 large boiled potatoes 1 large onion, finely chopped 2 green chillies, finely chopped 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp chaat masala 1 tsp red chilli powder Salt to taste Oil for shallow frying

Step 1

Take a bowl, add boiled chickpeas and potatoes together. Add the chopped onions, green chillies and coriander leaves

Step 2

Now add, garam masala, chaat masala, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well to form a dough-like consistency.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape round tikkis.

Step 4

In a pan heat oil, shallow fry this tikkis unitl golden brown and crispy.

Step 5

Remove the fried tikkis with on paper napkin. Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind chutney.
