Punjabi-Style Kaddu Ka Halwa For A Warm Monsoon Treat

Kaddu ka halwa is a rich dessert made with ripe pumpkins. While Punjabi cuisine offers many types of halwa, kaddu ka halwa is extremely popular to have in the rainy weather. Here’s a quick recipe for you.

Ingredients

1 cup grated pumpkin 1 cup full-fat milk ½ cup ghee ½ cup sugar ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom A pinch of saffron 2-3 tablespoons chopped nuts for garnish

Step 1

Grate fresh pumpkin. Heat some ghee and saute the grated pumpkin till it softens.

Step 2

Pour in the milk and add cardamom powder. Let it cook for 15-20 minutes till the mixture thickens.

Step 3

Add sugar and stir till it dissolves. Mix in saffron and cook till you get a thick consistency.

Step 4

Turn off the heat and garnish with chopped nuts. Serve hot.
