Punjabi-Style Homemade Mirchi Ka Aachar For Chatpata Meals

A spicy and tangy Indian pickle made with green chillies and a blend of aromatic spices, perfect for adding a fiery kick to your meals.

Ingredients

250 grams of green chillies 1/4 cup mustard oil 2 tbsp mustard seeds 1 tbsp fennel seeds 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1  tsp salt 1   tbsp lemon juice

Step 1

Take some green chillies,  wash and dry them well. Slit green chillies.

Step 2

Dry roast fennel and fenugreek seeds, then grind nicely.

Step 3

Combine ground mustard seeds, roasted spices, turmeric, and salt.

Step 4

Fill each slit chilli with the spice mix.

Step 5

Heat mustard oil to the smoking point, then cool.

Step 6

Place chillies in a jar, pour oil, add lemon juice, and store for a week.

Step 7

Shake the aachar daily, and serve with your favourite meals.
