Ganne ki kheer, made with sugarcane juice, rice, and milk, is a traditional Punjabi dessert. Garnished with nuts, the rich dessert is sure to please your sweet tooth. Here’s how you can make it at home.
4 cups sugarcane juice 1/2 cup rice 1 cup milk Sugar as required 2 tablespoons ghee 2 tablespoons raisins 1/4 cup chopped mixed dry fruits 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder Pinch of salt
Take fresh sugarcane juice and mix it with rinsed rice on medium heat.
Let the mixture simmer till the kheer thickens. Add milk and sugar and cook until creamy.
In a separate pan, heat some ghee and add chopped dry fruits and raisins.
Stir the sauteed nuts into the kheer and turn off the heat.
Let the ganne ki kheer chill, garnish with chopped nuts, and serve.
