Kaddu ka halwa is a rich dessert made with ripe pumpkins. While Punjabi cuisine offers many types of halwa, kaddu ka halwa is extremely popular to have in the changing season. Here’s a quick recipe for you.
1 cup grated pumpkin 1 cup full-fat milk ½ cup ghee ½ cup sugar ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom A pinch of saffron 2-3 tablespoons chopped nuts for garnish
Grate fresh pumpkin. Heat some ghee and saute the grated pumpkin till it softens.
Pour in the milk and add cardamom powder. Let it cook for 15-20 minutes till thick.
Add sugar and stir till it dissolves. Mix in saffron and cook till consistent.
Turn off the heat and garnish with chopped nuts. Serve hot.
