If you want to give your flatbreads a sweet little twist, try making Punjabi cheeni ki roti. The sweet roti can be enjoyed as is or pairs perfectly with achaar, a dry sabzi or dal.
1 cup whole wheat flour 1/4 cup sugar or jaggery 1/4 cup water 1 tablespoon ghee 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
Knead a dough with whole wheat flour, sugar, water, salt, and ajwain. Let it rest.
Take small portions and roll them out into thin circles.
Heat a tawa and cook the roti on both sides while brushing it with ghee.
Once you see black and brown spots, transfer to a plate and serve hot.
