Chana barfi is made with besan, or chickpea flour. Mixed with chopped dry fruits and nuts, it is a relatively healthier Indian sweet that you can make at home to satisfy your sweet tooth. Here’s a quick recipe.
1 cup besan 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup ghee 1/4 cup milk A pinch of cardamom powder Chopped dry fruits for garnishing
Roast besan while stirring till it is golden brown. Set aside.
Mix sugar and milk on low heat till the sugar dissolves and the milk thickens.
Pour the milk over the roasted besan and mix well. Add ghee and cardamom powder.
Cook until the mixture becomes thick and leaves the sides of the pan.
Pour the mixture into a greased plate. Garnish with chopped dry fruits. Let it cool before cutting.
