An indulgent but healthy dip to enjoy with crackers or toast, this French onion dip is a simple recipe that highlights the flavours of caramelised onions.
3 onions, sliced 200 grams paneer ¼ cup hung curd 2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise 1 tablespoon butter 2 tablespoons milk Salt and pepper, to taste 1 pinch sugar
Heat the butter in a pan and add the sliced onions to cook on a low flame.
Once they become translucent, add some salt and sugar and mix well.
Continue to cook for 5-10 minutes for them to begin browning.
Once the onions reach the colour of a deep brown caramel, turn off the flame and allow it to cool.
Meanwhile, add the paneer, hung curd, mayonnaise and milk to a blender and grind to a smooth paste.
Season the paste with salt and pepper and mix it with the onions.
Serve at room temperature with toast, crackers or chips.
