Lemons naturally contain acid, therefore if they are not stored properly and at the proper temperature, their shelf life will be limited. We often keep in our kitchens either refrigerated or at a cool room temperature. And by the time we're ready to extract some lemon juice, the lemons are frequently discoloured, dried, and hard. These are some creative methods for preserving the freshness of lemons.
Put the lemons in the water-filled container and store it in the fridge. They will remain juicy and fresh for days as a result.
Lemons are especially susceptible to the ethylene that fruits like apricots, apples, bananas, and others release, which causes fruits to ripen and go bad.
Lemons can be kept fresh for a long time if they are put in a sealed zip-lock bag with no air inside.
When storing a small number of lemons, it is recommended to wrap each one in aluminium foil separately to preserve their freshness.
The best way to keep lemon juice fresh over time is in this way. Just squeeze out all of the lemon juice, place it in a glass container, and refrigerate.
