From excessive screen time, to poor dietary choices or lifestyle choices, we expose our eyes to infections and sight-related complications, that can be easily avoided by taking a few simple but effective measures.

HANDWASHING

One of the most important steps in preventing eye infections is to wash your hands regularly with soap and water, especially before touching your eyes, face, or contact lenses.

MAINTAIN HEALTHY DIET

A balanced diet can contribute to better eye health. Incorporate foods rich in vitamins A, C, E, and zinc, as they have been shown to benefit eye health.

EYE CARE

If you spend long hours in front of screens (computers, smartphones, tablets), practice the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds to reduce eye strain.

HYDRATION

Drinking plenty of water helps to keep your eyes moist and reduces the risk of dry eyes, which can be more susceptible to infections.

EYE HYGIENE

If you wear contact lenses, follow your eye doctor's instructions for proper cleaning and disinfection of your lenses.

CLEAN EYEWEAR

If you wear glasses, clean them regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and lens cleaner to remove dirt, bacteria, and oil.
