Peanut Chikki has a delightful crunch with its blend of roasted peanuts and caramelised jaggery. Simple and traditional, this sweet symbolises prosperity and warmth, making it perfect for sharing with loved ones during the festival of lights. Here’s a simple recipe to make this sweet treat at home.

Ingredients

1 cup peanuts (roasted, skin removed) 1 cup jaggery  1 tbsp ghee 1/4 tsp cardamom powder 

Step 1

Roast peanuts on low heat until golden brown, then remove their skins by rubbing them. Crush them lightly for smaller pieces.

Step 2

In a heavy-bottomed pan, melt the ghee, then add the jaggery. 

Step 3

Stir on low heat until it melts completely and reaches a hard-ball stage. You can test this by dropping a little syrup in water. if it forms a hard ball, it's ready.

Step 4

Quickly add the roasted peanuts and optional cardamom powder. Mix well until peanuts are fully coated.

Step 5

Pour the mixture onto a greased plate or surface. Press it flat with a rolling pin, then let it cool slightly. Cut into squares or desired shapes before it hardens fully.
