Prepare Perfect Homemade Butter Chicken For A Weekend Feast

Create a flavour-packed weekend delight with this easy Homemade Butter Chicken recipe. Tender chicken marinated and cooked in a rich, creamy tomato sauce – a perfect treat for your taste buds!

Ingredients

1/2 cup plain yoghurt (full fat) 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp chilli powder 1 tsp ground cumin

Ingredients

1 tbsp freshly grated ginger 2 crushed garlic cloves 750g chicken thigh fillets (bite-size pieces) 2 tbsp ghee or butter 1 cup tomato passata 1 cup heavy cream 1 tbsp sugar 1 1/4 tsp salt Basmati or white rice (to serve) Coriander (optional)

Step 1

Mix marinated ingredients with chicken and refrigerate for at least 3 hours

Step 2

Heat ghee in a large fry pan over high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 3 minutes until white.

Step 3

Add tomato passata, cream, sugar, and salt to the pan.

Step 4

Simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot with basmati rice and garnish with coriander.
