Masala chai is a spiced tea blend made with black tea, milk, and aromatic spices. Brewing it at home is simple, giving you full control over the flavours and warmth in each sip.
4 cups (960 ml) water 2 tbsp Assam or Darjeeling tea leaves 2 tbsp ground chai masala ½ cup (120 ml) milk Sugar (as needed)
Add 4 cups of water to a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add 2 tbsp of tea leaves and 2 tbsp of chai masala into the boiling water.
Cover the pan, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour in ½ cup of milk and bring the mixture to a boil again.
Stir in sugar to taste and remove the pan from heat. Let the chai sit for 1 minute with the lid on to absorb flavours.
Strain the tea into cups and serve hot with your favourite snacks.
