2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 3/4 cup light or dark brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 egg yolk 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Whisk flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fully combined.
Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients and fold in chocolate chips.
Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours.
Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Scoop dough, roll into tall balls, and bake for 12–13 minutes.
Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Enjoy your homemade cookies!
