Celebrate Durga Puja with a delicious twist! These crunchy, golden fish balls make an ideal snack or starter for festive gatherings. Easy to prepare, they will definitely be a hit at your family feast.
1 cup water ¼ tsp turmeric powder ¼ tsp salt 250 g Bhetki/Basa fish (boneless cubes) 3 tbsp oil 3 garlic cloves (chopped) 1 large onion (chopped) 1 tsp red chilli flakes 1 tsp salt ½ tsp ground pepper 1 boiled potato (mashed) 1 tbsp cornflour 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
Boil fish cubes in 1 cup of water with turmeric and salt for 10 minutes.
Shred the boiled fish once it cools down. Sauté garlic and onions in oil, then add shredded fish and seasonings.
Mix mashed potato into the fish mixture and let it cool down.
Make small balls from the mixture and coat them with cornflour slurry.
Roll the fish balls in breadcrumbs for an even coating.
Deep fry the fish balls until golden brown, then drain on tissue paper. Serve hot with sauce and salad.
