Darjeeling-style chicken steamed momo are light, juicy, and flavourful dumplings made with minimal spices. This homemade version captures the simplicity and deliciousness, bringing the essence of Darjeeling straight to your kitchen.
500 gm ground chicken thigh 1 cup finely chopped onion 1 bunch green onion, chopped ¼ cup chopped cilantro 3 tbsp ghee/oil/butter 3 tbsp minced ginger 2 tsp salt
Mix ground chicken, onions, scallions, cilantro, ginger, ghee, and salt in a bowl.
Wet the edges of each wrapper, and place 1.5-2 tsp of filling in the centre.
Fold the wrappers into pleats or your desired shape to seal the filling.
Bring water to a rapid boil in a steamer, filling it ¾ of the way.
Line the steamer basket with parchment or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking.
Place the momo in the steamer without overcrowding and steam for 10-12 minutes until cooked.
