Suji Halwa, also known as semolina pudding, is a traditional Indian dessert made with ghee, sugar, and dry fruits. This easy-to-follow recipe brings you the authentic flavours of a time-honoured treat, perfect for any occasion.
½ cup suji (semolina) ⅓ cup sugar ⅓ cup ghee ½ tsp cardamom powder 10-12 cashews (halved) 2 tbsp golden raisins 1 tsp chironji (optional) 1.25 cups water A pinch of edible camphor (optional)
Heat ghee in a pan over low flame. Add suji and cashews to the pan. Roast until golden.
In a separate pan, boil water and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
Slowly pour the sugar syrup into the roasted suji while stirring.
Add cardamom powder, raisins, and chironji. Mix well.
Cook until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
Serve warm or at room temperature for a delightful dessert.
