Potato twisters are delightful snacks that combine the goodness of potatoes with the whimsy of a spiral shape. These crispy, spiral-cut potatoes are incredibly tasty, making them a favourite at get-togethers and parties. Here’s how you can easily make potato twisters at home.
2 large potatoes Salt to taste Pepper to taste 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon of garlic powder 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut off the ends to make them flat and stable for skewering.
Insert a skewer into one end of the potato, pushing it through the center. Use a spiral cutter or a sharp knife to cut the potato into a spiral shape, keeping it attached to the skewer.
Brush the potato spirals generously with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder, ensuring even coverage.
Hold the skewer firmly and gently stretch the potato spirals to create a twisted appearance.
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Place the twisted potatoes in the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown
Remove the potato twisters from the skewers and serve hot.
