Chakkara Pongal is a sweet version of the South Indian traditional recipe that brings joy to everyone and satisfies sugar cravings. This step-by-step guide will help you make this delicious dish at home without hassle.
Water as needed ½ tsp crushed cardamom ¾ cup rice ½ cup moong dal 1 cup jaggery 10-15 cashews 3 tbsp ghee 2 tbsp raisins 2 cloves A pinch of edible camphor 2 tbsp coconut
Pressure cook dal or dry roast it in a pan for 5-7 minutes.
Add rice to the pan and wash the ingredients thoroughly.
Pressure cook the ingredients for 3 whistles. Meanwhile, prepare jaggery syrup.
Filter the syrup and pour it over rice and dal. Add cardamom and cook the ingredients.
Sprinkle ghee-roasted cashews, edible camphor, coconut, and cloves on the top.
Turn off the flame and serve sweet pongal to guests.
