Poee bread, a beloved Goan delicacy, is a traditional, spongy, and slightly sweet bread. Baked in wood-fired ovens, it boasts a unique texture and taste, making it a staple in Goan cuisine.

In a bowl, add 1 cup whole wheat flour along with 1 cup all-purpose flour, ½ tsp salt, 1 and ½ tsp instant yeast and ½ tsp sugar. Mix it well.

Add 1 cup of lukewarm water to make a smooth dough and apply some oil on top. Cover it and let it rest till the dough becomes double in size.

Now punch the dough and knead it again. Divide it into equal balls and roll it into 3 inches-thick discs.

Cover it and let it rise for 10 minutes or until it rises. Cook it on a hot griddle over medium-high flame from both sides or bake it at 200 degrees for 10 minutes. When ready, serve it with curries or aloo Bhaji.
