Dosas are a South Indian favourite, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. To get crispy and soft dosas with authentic taste at home, Here is a simple recipe to get that perfect fluffy batter for that crispy dosa!
3 cups of rice 1 cup of urad dal ¼ cup of poha ½ tsp of methi seeds Water as needed Salt to taste
Rinse rice, urad dal, methi seeds and poha separately. Soak rice and poha together in water for 6 hours.
Soak urad dal and methi seeds together in another bowl for 4 hours.
Drain and grind urad dal and methi seeds, and add water as needed until you get a smooth fluffy paste.
Drain rice and poha, grind them to a slightly grainy paste, and add water gradually.
Combine both pastes in a big bowl. Add salt, mix well and cover. Let the batter ferment overnight in a warm place until it doubles in volume.
Heat a tawa, pour the batter and spread in a circular motion. Drizzle oil and cook until crispy. Serve hot with chutney and sambar!
