Peanut chutney, also known as groundnut chutney or palli chutney, is the perfect accompaniment for South Indian dishes like dosa, idli, vada, etc. To make it at home, follow this step-wise guide.
1 cup peanuts 2-3 green chillies 2-3 cloves of garlic 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds Salt to taste Water as needed 1 tablespoon oil 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon urad dal A few curry leaves 1 dry red chilli
Heat some oil and roast peanuts till golden brown. Let them cool and grind coarsely.
Add green chillies, garlic, lemon juice, cumin seeds, salt, and water. Blend till smooth.
Heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves, and hing.
Pour the tempering over the peanut chutney. Transfer to a bowl and serve with dosa.
