2 cups wheat flour Water, for kneading 3 large onions, sliced 1/2 tsp onion seeds Salt, as per taste 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 tsp carom seeds 1/2 tsp kasturi methi Red chilli powder, to taste Clarified butter, as required
Take 2 cups of whole wheat flour in a mixing bowl and add 2 teaspoons of oil and salt as required.
Add water in parts while mixing and begin to knead into a soft and smooth dough.
Allow the dough to rest for 20-30 minutes while you make the onion stuffing with the remaining ingredients.
Take a medium-sized ball from the dough and roll to a 6-7 inches round circle.
Take another medium-sized ball of dough and roll into a circle of the same size and the previous one before spreading the filling evenly over one roti and covering it with the second one.
Seal the edges and roll out into a paratha of about 8 to 9 inches diameter.
Heat a tawa on high heat and place the paratha on it. Spread some ghee, flip for a couple of times till evenly cooked.
Serve hot with some curd on the side.
