Paneer Sandwich For A Quick, Filling Meal

Strapped For Time? A paneer sandwich is a delicious and easy snack made with spiced crumbled paneer stuffed between bread slices. Grilled or toasted it's a savoury treat ideal for breakfast, tea-time or to pack in a lunch box.

Ingredients

200 gms paneer (cottage cheese) 4 slices of bread 1 onion 1 tomato 1 green chilli 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 1/4 tsp garam masala 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves 1 tbsp butter or oil Green chutney or ketchup 

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil or butter in a pan. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until soft.

Step 2

Add tomatoes and green chilli, and cook until the tomatoes are soft. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala. Stir well.

Step 3

Add crumbled paneer and salt and mix. Turn off the heat and mix in the chopped coriander leaves. Let the mixture cool slightly.

Step 4

Spread some green chutney or ketchup on one side of each slice of bread. Add a generous amount of the paneer filling onto one slice and cover it with another.

Step 5

Toast the sandwich in a sandwich maker, grill pan, or on a tawa with a bit of butter until golden and crispy on both sides.
