Nothing beats the smell of a freshly baked vanilla cake in your kitchen. This pan-baked vanilla cake recipe is for those who want a homemade treat without an oven. Soft, fluffy and full of vanilla flavour, it is perfect for celebrations or just a dessert craving.
1 cup maida ½ cup sugar 1 tsp baking powder ¼ tsp baking soda ½ cup milk 1 tsp vanilla essence ¼ cup oil 1 tsp vinegar A pinch of salt 1 tsp butter
In a bowl, sift together maida, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add sugar and mix well.
Gradually add the milk, vanilla essence and oil. Mix well. Add vinegar and fold gently.
Grease a thick-bottomed pan with butter. Then, pour the batter into the greased pan and spread evenly.
Cover the pan with a tight lid and cook on low heat for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let the cake cool, and then slice and enjoy!
