Over-Salted Your Dish? Here’s How To Fix It

Now and then while cooking, the proportion of salt gets messed up. It is too little or too much. When it is less it is easy to manage the taste but when it gets too much the dish is gone wrong. Do not worry here, there are a few ways to manage the over-salted dish: 

Dilute 

You can always opt to dilute the dish, it helps to manage the salt level. You can use water, milk, or vegetables/chicken broth to make this dish. 

Potato 

Use a potato to absorb the excess salt. Simply add a peeled potato to the dish cook it for a while, check the taste and remove it before serving. 

Lemon/Vinegar Juice 

A small amount of lemon juice or vinegar can also help to balance the salt in the dish. The acidic counter the salt making the dish less salty. 

Sweetener 

Add sugar honey or anything sweet to the dish. This will help to balance the flavour and make the dish less salty. 

Add More

It will be helpful to add the main ingredient, vegetable, grain or meat. This will increase the amount of ingredients absorbing salt. 

Pair With An Unsalted Dish

Pair the salted dish with unsalted sides like rice, bread or plain vegetables. This will help to balance the flavours.
