Notun Aloor Dom - A Winter Special Bengali Delicacy

Notun aloor dom is a winter special Bengali delicacy that is truly delicious. Let us learn how to make the dish.

Step 1

Boil the whole potatoes with salt and turmeric powder. Now heat up mustard oil in a pan and fry them.

Step 2

Keep the potatoes aside. In the same pan, add 5 phoron and ginger-garlic-onion paste. Cook till colour changes.

Step 3

Add powdered spices like jeera, dhaniya, red chili and haldi. Add a cup of peas and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.

Step 4

Add the cooked potatoes. Add half a cup of water and cook on  medium flame for 10 minutes. Garnish with dhaniya leaves.
