Bengalis know their sweets and one such example is nolen gurer roshogulla. It is delicious winter dessert that is the star of every Bengali gathering in the season.
This dessert is made with nolen gur or khehur gur, which means date palm jaggery.
You need full fat milk, date palm jaggery, lemon juice, water and sugar to make it.
Boilmilk and add the lemon juice to prepare chhena. Strain this chhena fully by hanging in a mulmul cloth.
Make chhena alls out of it. In a pan, make the sugar, jaggery and water syrup. When the syrup boils, add the balls.
Let the roshogulla boil for 30 minutes on medium flame.Turn off the sflame and keep it in the syrup for 2 hours. The sweet is ready.
