What if you want to eat ramen but don’t own a stove or witness an issue in the gas supply? You can use a microwave to cook your favourite Korean noodles. The appliance has multiple buttons and features, but here are quick tips that will help you make your comfort meal in just a few minutes.

First of all, pick a microwave-safe bowl to cook ramen. It would be better if you pick a glass bowl as it is highly unlikely to react with the hot content cooking inside it.

Add at least two cups of water to the bowl. It is the perfect ratio to cooking noodles. Unlike gas, water tends to evaporate quickly inside the microwave.

Add dry ramen noodles to water before you put the container inside the microwave. The noodles will not be submerged in water but will get softer as the liquid will heat up.

While you are cooking noodles in the microwave, cover the lid with a microwave-safe cover. Make sure it has a hole for the steam to escape the bowl.

Cook the ramen noodles for just 2 minutes. Remove the lid, flip the noodles and cook them for another couple of minutes until they are soft and done.

At this point, if you think that the water is too much in the ramen, remove some of it. However, if you like soupy noodles, leave the water and add seasoning.

The last step is to add more flavours like hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, etc. Break an egg or add a soft boiled egg on the top if you like it. Cook the noodles for a couple of minutes more and enjoy.
