Craving a sweet treat but don't have the patience to start baking? This easy no-bake chocolate tart is the solution. Whip one up on even the busiest weekday with this easy recipe.
For the Crust: 200g digestive biscuits 100g unsalted butter, melted For the Chocolate Filling: 200g good-quality dark chocolate, chopped 200ml double cream 2 tablespoons icing sugar (powdered sugar) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For Topping: Whipped cream or fresh berries (optional)
Place the chocolate digestive biscuits in a plastic bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin.
Transfer the crumbs into a bowl and mix in the melted butter until the mixture is well combined Press the mixture firmly into the base of a tart tin or pie dish, creating an even crust.
In a saucepan, gently heat the double cream until it's warm, but not boiling. Remove it from the heat as soon as you see small bubbles forming around the edges.
Add the chopped dark chocolate to the warm cream, and let it sit for a minute. Then, stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Stir in the icing sugar and vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well combined.
Pour the chocolate filling over the chilled crust and smooth it out with a spatula. Refrigerate the tart for at least 2-3 hours, or until the filling is set. Garnish with whipped cream and berries.
