Aam panna is a delicious summer drink that offers respite from the heat and hydrates the body in no time. Its tangy taste from raw mangoes makes it a hit among Indians. Here is a quick recipe you can try out to welcome summer and survive the rising mercury.
1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste) 1 tablespoon roasted cumin powder Ice cubes, for serving 1 teaspoon black salt (kala namak) 2 medium-sized raw mangoes Handful of fresh mint leaves 4 cups water Mint leaves and lemon slices, for garnish (optional) 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste) 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
Wash raw mangoes, pressure cook them, let them cool, and peel off the skin. Scoop out the pulp and add it to the blender.
Add cumin powder, black pepper powder, sugar, salt, black salt, and fresh mint leaves to the blender.
After blending the mixture, adjust the water content but maintain a runny consistency.
After adjusting flavours, strain aam panna through a sieve to remove any fibrous strands and residue.
Store the aam panna in a pitcher and refrigerate for a couple of hours at least.
Add ice to a glass and pour aam panna. Enjoy the delicious summer drink.
