Prepared as an offering across many temples in Gujarat, Sukhdi is a type of dry Barfi made with dry fruits, gond and jaggery. Try this sweet dish during Navratri to make your post-fast meal more special.

1 cup wheat flour ½ cup almonds 1/4 cup cashew 1 cup jaggery powder ½ cup gond ½ cup dry coconut, grated 1 cup ghee ½ tsp cardamom powder

Place the gond, cashew and almonds in a mixer jar and grind into a coarse powder.

Heat ghee in a wok, add the wheat flour and dry roast it on a low flame until golden brown.

Add the gond-nuts mix, dry coconut and dry roast everything together until it turns brown and aromatic.

Let the mix cool down a bit, then add jaggery and cardamom. Mix well to make a soft dough.

Transfer the dough into a greased tray, distribute evenly and flatten, then let it rest until set.
Cut the Sukhdi into equal-sized pieces and store in an airtight container.
