South Indian Paneer Appe is a yummy snack made with paneer, rava and a mix of spices. Paneer appe has a crunchy and soft, cheesy texture outside. Prepared without onion, this dish is perfect for Navratri fasting snacks.
½ cup grated paneer ½ cup rava (semolina) ¼ cup curd (dahi) ½ cup water 1 small tomato 1 green chilli Coriander leaves 1 tsp cumin seeds Salt to taste 1 tsp black pepper powder 1 tbsp oil
In a bowl, mix grated paneer, rava, curd and water. Whisk to a smooth batter.
Add chopped tomato, green chilli, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, salt and pepper. Mix well.
Grease the appe pan moulds with oil and preheat on medium flame.
Pour a spoonful of batter into each mould and cover with a lid. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side.
Once golden brown, flip the appe and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
