Made with chenna, sandesh is a sweet and moist Bengali sweet that is very easy to prepare. Here is the recipe to prepare this mithai at home for Navratri.

8 cups milk ½ cups castor sugar 1/4 cup lemon juice green cardamom powder as required 12 pistachios blanched and chopped

Bring the milk to a boil in a thick-bottomed non-stick pan. Add the lemon juice and stir till the milk curdles. Strain and immediately refresh the chenna in chilled water.

Put the chenna in a piece of muslin and squeeze till all the water is drained out. Knead the chenna well with sugar and cardamom powder.

Cook chenna in a non-stick pan on medium heat for eight minutes. Remove from heat and divide into twelve equal portions.

Roll each portion into a ball and make a dent on the top. When cooled, place a pistachio in the dent and serve.
