Fasting days come with a lot of dietary restrictions, but if you're having a craving for snack foods, this farali recipe could be the solution. Made with amaranth flour, these delicious treats are perfect for kids and can be easily made at home.
2 big-sized potatoes 1 cup rajgira flour 3 tablespoons arrowroot powder 1 finely chopped green chilli 1 teaspoon grated ginger ½ cup finely chopped green coriander Rock salt to taste Approximately ¾ cup + 3 tablespoons water (for making batter) Oil for deep frying
Start by peeling and cleaning the potatoes. Cut them into slices, either using a knife or a french fries cutter.
In a mixing bowl, combine the rajgira flour, arrowroot powder, grated ginger, chopped green chilli, and finely chopped green coriander. Mix these ingredients thoroughly.
Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring until you achieve a thick batter consistency. Adjust the salt to your taste.
Dip the potato slices into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated. Heat oil in a deep frying pan if frying, or preheat an air fryer.
Carefully place the coated potato slices into the hot oil or into the air fryer. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crisp. This usually takes a few minutes.
Once fried, remove the potato slices from the oil and place them on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil. Enjoy hot!
