Are you looking for a dessert to enjoy this festive season? Made with almonds, ghee, sugar and cardamom, this hearty and warming halwa is perfect to complete a wholesome Navratri meal.

Here is an easy recipe to make badam ka halwa at home.

1 ½ almonds soaked, drained and peeled 1/2 cup desi ghee 1/2 cup semolina A pinch of saffron 1 cup milk 1 ¼ cups castor sugar Almonds slivered to garnish

Chop the almonds in an electric chopper. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add semolina and cook till light golden. Add the almonds and cook till the mixture is fragrant.

Add 1 cup water, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add saffron, sugar, milk and cook till the mixture thickens.

Drizzle remaining ghee cook for 2-3 minutes and take the pan off the heat. Transfer the halwa into a bowl, garnish with slivered almonds and serve hot.
