Muri Makha, And Easy Puffed Rice Snack To Munch For Tea

Bhel Puri, Jhal Muri, Churmuri. Puffed rice snacks are beloved all over India. Simple to make and packed with flavour they offer a light crunchy treat to eat for a midday snack or alongside your afternoon tea. Here's an easy Muri Makha recipe to try at home.

Ingredients

1 diced tomato 1 diced cucumber 1/4 finely diced onion 1–2 finely diced green chillies 1/2 bunch of coriander 1/2 cup of sev 2 cups of puffed rice For the dressing: 3 tbsps of mustard oil 1 tbsp of lemon juice 1 tsp of chaat masala 1 tsp of salt

Step 1

Whisk together the mustard oil, lemon juice, chaat masala, and salt to make the dressing.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the diced tomato, cucumber, onion, chilli, and coriander. Add the toasted coconut, peanuts, sev, and puffed rice.

Step 2

Drizzle the salad dressing over the mixture and toss to coat evenly. Alternatively, you can shake everything in a large jar.

Step 4

For an authentic street food experience, serve the salad in newspaper cones.
