Moong dal namkeen is an Indian snack prepared with yellow lentils. It is easy to make at home and can be stored in an airtight container for weeks. The healthy snack is protein-rich and nutritious. Unlike the store-bought moong dal namkeen, this homemade snack allows you to control the amount of oil, salt and seasonings, making it a healthier alternative.
1 cup moong dal ½ tsp salt ½ tsp black salt ½ tsp chaat masala ¼ tsp red chilli powder 2 cups water Oil for deep frying
Rinse moong dal and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. Drain the excess water and dry the dal by spreading it on a cloth for 45 minutes.
Heat a pan with oil in it. Stir the moong dal continuously while frying until it turns crispy and golden.
Transfer the fried dal to a paper towel, sprinkle with salt, black salt, chaat masala, and red chilli powder and toss well.
Let it cool before storing it in an airtight container.
