Made with ghee, almonds and cardamom powder, moong dal ka halwa is a perfect dessert to relish during winter. Here is an easy recipe to make this sweet treat at home.

1/2 cup-soaked green lentil 1/2 cup ghee 1/2 cup sugar mixed with milk and water 1/2 cup milk 1 cup water 1/4 teaspoon powdered cardamom 2 tablespoon almonds

Wash the soaked dal with water and grind coarsely in a food processor. Then heat the milk-sugar mixture in a pan to dissolve the sugar. Let it come to a boil and keep the mixture hot till needed.

In a heavy skillet, heat ghee and add dal. Stir fry it over low heat until done. Now add milk mixture to the dal and stir well to combine. Cook on low heat till the fat separates.

Add cardamom powder and half the almonds.

Finally, transfer the dish to a plate and garnish with the remaining of the almonds and serve hot.
