1 cup Moong Daal (yellow lentils) 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (optional) Salt to taste Oil for greasing
Make a paste of daal by washing and soaking it overnight. Mix the turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, and salt into the daal paste.
Take a muslin cloth, grease it lightly with oil, and shape the paste into badi.
Sun-dry the badis for 2-3 days. Store the dried mangodi in an airtight container for future use.
To cook, you can sauté them with spices or add them to curries and stir-fries.
