Warm up with a traditional Indian dessert atta halwa made with gur and enjoy the delicious flavours of the monsoon season.
1 cup whole wheat flour 1 cup jaggery (chopped) 1/2 cup ghee 2.5 cups water Few strands of saffron 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Heat water and jaggery together till jaggery melts. Keep warm.
In a kadhai, add the ghee and let it heat.
Roast the aata in ghee for 7-8 mins on low flame till aata is nice brown in colour and fragrant.
Now add the warm jaggery water in the roasted aata slowly. Don’t add all the water in one go.
Add slowly in batches and keep stirring till all the water is finished.
Cook till halwa leaves the sides of kadhai. Garnish with some saffron strands , cardamom powder and chopped almonds. Serve hot. Enjoy!
