Raita is a popular yoghurt-based Indian side dish that complements various dishes such as pulao, biryani, crackers, or just on its own. But this mixed fruit raita makes the affair even more refreshing and delicious. Here's a quick recipe for you to try:
1 cup yoghurt 1/2 cup mixed fruits (such as chopped apples, grapes, pomegranate seeds, mango, or bananas) 1/4 cup of cucumber 1/4 cup of mint leaves 1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin powder Salt to taste 1 tablespoon of honey Chopped nuts
Smoothly whisk the plain yoghurt in a mixing bowl.
To the yoghurt, add the sliced cucumber, roasted cumin powder, fresh mint leaves, mixed fruits, and salt. Toss to blend thoroughly.
At this point, you can add honey and stir it in if you like your raita to be somewhat sweeter. To allow the flavours to merge, chill the mixed fruit raita in the fridge for approximately half an hour.
If desired, top before serving with chopped nuts. Serve cold as a wholesome snack or as a cool side dish to meals.
